My jaunt

After an eventful weekend, I am back at my desk preparing for the next certification exam I am supposed to take at work.I am now a MCAD(Microsoft Certified Application Developer) and also finished the first exam on my way to becoming an OCA(Oracle Certified Associate).

It was a fun weekend during which I made a trip to Pondicherry for 2 days with some good friends. We drove to Pondicherry on 17th June and reached there by 8pm.We checked into a guest house and were quite pleasantly surprised to see the place. The best part about the place was that it was quiet and peaceful. We did the customary Auroville and Matrimandir and then sat through the nights talking and dancing. It was a most pleasant getaway and the best part about the trip was that for two days I did not think about the next week and things to do at work and the exams to prepare for,no newspapers in the morning and no emails;I holidayed in perfect style.

Current mood :Satisfied

hey maaru, whats the deal with Hexaware ?? All i hear is that the stock prices have dropped big time ( news from my mom, who apparently is making good returns on all her investments. :-)) ,is it because Oracle are going to acquire Hexaware, or have they already. Whats the scenario like ??

I just found out yesterday that .NET applications are compliant with Linux ??

pretty cool stuff.

Hexaware has performed a stock split as a result of which the stock prices have realigned themselves.I think its a 1:3 or 1:4 stock split and hence the change in the stock price. As for dotnet running on linux,I am not exactly an authority on that and so might not be able to contribute much to that idea.

You guys are in the heart of the business and financial world and yet you ask questions like this :-)
What's the point in having the legendary bull standing behind you in your photograph if you can't keep up with the bulls and bears.Anyway enough of that...

Oracle bought Peoplesoft and not Hexaware :-)

Yup Kanishka
It was terribly hot but the nights were a lot better than Chennai plus the fact that there was no office also helped.

I see, so thats the reason why the share prices fell.. hmmm was wondering cos the company was doing quite well..

Usually thats good news right, cos they do it so that each shareholder gets more dividend.

Caterpillar did a 1:2 split recently, or so it shall take place on July mid.

Share splits are normally done inorder to increase the liquidity of a stock and also sometimes the share price becomes so high that individual investors find it hard to invest and therefore by splitting the stock and reducing the price, the individual investors also have an opportunity to invest in the same stocks.
